Knowledge cafe

Through Knowledge Café, the Policy, Planning and Monitoring Division (PPMD) at the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) aims to engage policymakers, programme managers, researchers, and health professionals, from MoHP and the broader health system, through a series of knowledge translation activities. The Policy and Planning Section under the PPMD, designated as the knowledge café secretariat, organises and facilitates various activities that will promote the use of evidence in decision-making in policy development, planning, programming, and budgeting.

Knowledge Café meeting, one among many initiatives of the knowledge café secretariat is an intensive group activity that gathers interested stakeholders together to discuss a selected issue through an interactive exchange of ideas, concepts and views about health policies and practice. This is an engaging process designed to produce new solutions and knowledge from the combination of experience and evidence among those who attend for open conversations on the relevance of recent evidence for health issues, programmes and policies.

The purpose of this activity is to promote use of/consideration to use evidence in health decision making, policy and planning among MoHP policymakers, programme managers and other stakeholders. The aim is to provide a platform for the policy makers to discuss and consider about evidence when they are working in policy, planning and decision-making processes.
